Flight to Downeen Castle, St. Patrick's Day 2021
In this video - "flight to Downeen Castle" shot in West Cork Ireland, every aspect of the vision I had for this video had to come together in a very brief moment - I had speculated that the morning sunlight would hit just the top third of this mystical looking castle tower for only a few minutes during sunrise and I envisaged this would lend it an even more mystical appearance. The main challenge was, that I had no way of knowing at exactly what time that would be, so I took an educated guess. If I got the drone to the location too early, i would run out of battery waiting for that moment and would have to return and miss it. If I got the drone there too late, the moment would be gone. Also, weather conditions had to be just right. It wouldn't have worked if it was too windy or if a cloud had covered the sun just at the time it would hit the top of the tower...find out if it worked out. Spoiler alert: A dolphin makes a brief guest appearance - see if you can spot him breaching briefly!
